ENFIELD – An Enfield man with seven pending cases involving drug sale charges was arrested again last Friday, March 5, Police Chief Carl J. Sferrazza said.
Ronnie P. Lindquist, 40, of 24 Cottage Green was charged with sale of certain illegal drugs and sale of a controlled substance near a school after a drug-sniffing dog helped police find just over nine grams of cocaine hidden underneath his clothes following a routine traffic stop.
At 1:20 in the morning last Friday, a police officer observed a car traveling southbound on Route 5 with an expired inspection sticker and pulled the vehicle over.
Inside the car were two male passengers, Lindquist and an unidentified male, along with a female operator.
Upon recognizing Lindquist as a known drug dealer, police questioned all three parties and eventually called Officer Croteau and his dog, Promise, to the scene to search the vehicle.
The female suspect eventually took a piece of foil with crack cocaine out of her pocket during the search but insisted nothing else was located in the car. Promise searched the rest of the vehicle and did not find anything, however, alerted to Lindquist’s groin after searching further.
After removing three layers of clothing from Lindquist, officers found eight small clear baggies of powder identified as cocaine containing a total amount of nine grams.
Lindquist and the female operator were subsequently arrested and charged.
